Many people ask questions as to why many schools are under funded. There are theories that it is because of racism, that urban schools just dont get the funding they properly deserve because many of the students that attend these schools are "minoritys".( god i hate that word) But i think the answer to this question is far deeper then racism, i believe it lies more in the hands of Americas idaels of militarism. If you stop and think about it if every single person that went to school got a great education and went to college and became successful the United states would have no standing military. There are some that join the military because of pride, the love the country. But most enlist to escape poverty. The military represents a way out of low living status.
Lets face it Americe has been built on warfare plain and simple. America declares war on adverage every 15 to 20 years. And a quarter of our economy goes to the military, over 600 billion dollars ever single year! Imagine our comunities if that moneys were to go into programs for poverty stricken comunities, schools would get the funding they needed, librarys would be constructed.It would truly be a beautiful place. But alas that is merely wishful thinking. Why is it only a dream and can be the come a reality, well thats simple, capatilism.
If you look at the countries that America has gone to war with i bet you can find a Walmart a McDonalds. Guess what America spent the past ten years attacking a countries well its going to be collecting profit from them for as long as America exsists. America uses business as a way to conquer. As soon as were offically done dropping bombs we start dropping bunisess on them. The same will come of the current war.When where done destroying there building well replace them with Walmarts and soon theyll be completly relient on the U.S. for econmical stablity, gues what weve won the true war, the war on making a profit. That 600 billion dollars doesnt go into supplies and armor it goes into the construction of our profit.
